A new tradition began with Retiring Commodore Pat Waters requesting that the usual parting gift be the "inaugural donation to the Des Moines Youth Sailing Scholarship Fund". The seed money has been sent to Des Moines Legacy Foundation for they have an accounting system to keep the records straight and is approved by the City of Des Moines. Please consider contributions sent in lieu of holiday or birthday gifts to yourself. Below is the required information to make the check out to and mail it in. Cruising Boat of the Year Nomination Form PDF
 Ever wonder how the "Cruise Boat of the Year" is selected?  Surprisingly, there actually is an objective criterion to determine which boat is awarded this honor.  Through a system apparently adopted by the TTPYC in 2006, the award is determined by the number of "points" accumulated in accordance with the following:
1. A boat earns two points for every TTPYC cruise event attended.
2. A boat can also earn points at the rate of .01 point per nautical mile for cruising to places or events, other than TTPYC cruises.  Racing does not count, but taking the boat to a race event would allow the miles enroute to be counted.

"DS" Award"
The Three Tree Point Yacht Club annually presents an award to one of its Members honoring some Notorious Effort directed toward reducing the Boat Gnome Pool in the Puget Sound area, or for some outstandingly notorious example of “disingenuous” seamanship or other noteworthy (?) act, usually while participating in a TTPYC Event.  Please fill in relevant data for the Offending event(s) leading to “that Sinking Feeling” and submit the form to the above address so that all deserving members and/or Sinking Feeling—
